New Update/Upgrade Coming?

The last update release was in March; any plans to release an update anytime soon? The maintenance proposition is getting harder and harder to justify given the lack of updates and commitments regarding the future of AutoPlay Media.

I was hopeful that the new forum would be accompanied by company announcements regarding future development/releases. I am a bit disappointed by the lack of communication by Indigo Rose. I noted a couple of posts from prominent Indigo Rose folks during the forum upgrade---but no development/promotional comments regarding any of the products supported by the forum. I assume since funds were invested to upgrade the forum, that the software products supported by the forum are still in active development---but I now doubt that my assumption is correct.

Any insights as to future releases/development will be welcome. Plans for a version 9? I also own and have maintenance on two other software products supported by this forum and any update on them would also be welcome.. Thanks. JimC

There is an new update coming in the next couple months with 15 newly designed project templates, designed for larger screens and higher resolutions. A variety of different project types. Other than that, the focus right now is on keeping the product updated for compatibility with operating system updates etc. It's an extremely mature product, so very few bug fixes, however we of course tackle those as needed too.

Sorry, we've been super busy with Andromo App Maker v5 work. The new templates are done, we just need to package them up and roll it out. Should have some time in the next few weeks.

Why have not released the new version of AMS?
I'm still waiting for new version with advanced features.
Three weeks have passed from your previous post. Please spread the news of the new version.

There is no advanced features, they are aiming to make the product work with newer OS's but adding a few new templates, they made that clear, and really without rebuilding AMS from the ground up there is not much more to be added in its state it's in now.

I love to see there new templates but I not really bothered about there update as it works fine for what I use it for

Now I am using the tool again I would love to see some more updates, wife would also let me get a new maintenance plan if they show some updates first, like you said no real update since over a year ago, Waldo maybe create a new post on what your working on

am thinking that the whole template update thing is because most of the standard templates long outdated and any new customers are likely to request a refund due to them being very old. Would appear to be just a marketing ploy of sorts..

A real update would be to add some long requested plugins which allow power users to create truely unique applications and some more functionality like for example better listboxes (with rightclick functionality etc) , ability to tab entire chunks of code through the ide.. else np++ c&p...

alignment of input boxes and text , as it just dont quite line up correctly and usually shrinking text sort of helps.

snapping of objects in resizable windows is a rather serious bug.. which based on the helpful info from users like worm and centauri could be fixed in next release and possibly make it more attractive to any new existing members.

try making an app with several buttons and 2 listboxes and try making everything bend n stretch.. is a fkn nightmare..

on the upside.. its still a very cool application and powerful as well. but it seems to have little to no support and i assume actual customers have requested these basics decades ago..

looking after your existing customer-base should be your priority (iam not too sure what kinda shitfest went down to cause 90% of them to split the gap) but stabbing in the dark it was likely a monetary debate of sorts mixed with some complicated IP issues assumably.

anyway u still have a pretty awesome gadget here and it can be revitalized although it is not on the priority list. (#'s dwindling) obviously.

of course the $ thing is a restricting issue as there are other cheaper tools available for the purpose of RAD.. seriously look into restructuring the prices .. because as you well know $100 x 1000 in the bank is gonna be better then $300 x 10 .. turnover..

yeah well see how this pill goes down.

not trying to be a negative nancy.. APMS is still an awesome tool.. but it is lacking serverely.. and it needs a bit more effort to bring it upto todays standards.. cheers.

nm , i see why theres not much happening here. it seems the other pool (Andromo) is where the action is.

would be kinda pointless putting effort intoa sinking ship when everyone else is glying rockets i guess.

just an idea .. perhaps swap adverts between the applications. ie; advertise APMS over there and Andomo over here.. might be beneficial all round.

shame you guys are going to neglect this one though. ahh well.

AMS died of for many reasons Andomo was not the killer of the tool, and no point brining the **** of the past back, but AMS never recovered, price, way they support it is how it failed it mostly, it was more of the user that powered AMS not the owners.

kingzooly yes i have read between the lines and have noticed that the ams support structure is non-existant from IR'S end of the rope.

I noticed throughout the forums alot of very simple add on requests arising over and over again. yet do not see anything done about these requests outside of other users building semi-professional (some professional) @ a cost. Yet most of these tools / additions are what ams should have included into this product themselves.

and judging by the experience of the developers they could have zapped up 90% of these things into an update within a week or 2.. Shame really.

Well only IR can reply to why, and I have no idea, I still uses this too a lot and before I ever paid for it I helped out a lot here, it is dead as IR but it's not dead as a tool for me
