Sounds like more than 1 issue causing the problem. If you haven't already done so, start by addressing this part of of the problem ...

I'd suggest 3 things at this point:
1. Post a screen capture video showing the point-of-failure, so we can actually watch what's happening (rather than you trying to describe things with stillshots & descriptions)
2. Post a screencap (stillshot) from: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features so we can see everything that's currently installed on your system-drive.
3. Post a screencap (stillshot) of your Processes tab (from Task Manager) so we can see all processes which are running when you try to execute AMS in preview mode.
These 3 things (if posted together) will permit a more definitive analysis of possible causes. I'm suspecting a software clash.
Nb.
Prior to doing the above, run a full system scan with KVRT https://www.kaspersky.com.au/downloa...s-removal-tool but remove AVG first. KVRT does not require installation - just run the downloaded KVRT executable to deploy a full scan of your system-drive only. See what it turns up.

if the core of 7.5 is working there is no reason for 8 to no work as there almost the same in the kind of tools they are so I believe the OS or a app is creating this problem by blocking it in some way, like BioHazard says we need to know what's running with it, is AVG as a cature mode this could also be blocking it, I don't advice anyone to use AVG anymore its been a spywear/spam tool for about 10 years now.

Here is AMSfail.zip a video capture. KVRT found nothing. Numbers 2 and 3 can not fit everything on the screen.1 Photo

This is just a capture of the compiled exe trying to execute. I was referring to a capture of AMS trying to execute in Preview and/or Build mode. Are you saying that Preview and Build mode are now working?
Also, the screencap of Processes needs to show ALL processes or it's next to useless for diagnostic purposes. If it won't fit onto your capture window, then use something (ie. Solid Capture, etc...) that allows you to do a scrolling-capture of the entire window from top to bottom.
Also need the capture of ALL programs currently installed.
Can't help you without ALL 3 items in FULL.

Here is my list of programs and task manager as captured by snagit.

You have so much 3rd party software installed, it's a crap-shoot trying to guess where to begin. I'd start with removing Malwarebytes v3.7.1.2839 - and see if that makes any difference. It's a long shot but my best guess for a clash.
Originally posted by leebos View Post... other AMS 8 apps do not work but AMS 7 apps do. Really strange.
Given that you have so much stuff on your system, I'm betting that at least one of the software packages used during their installation is infected with something - and is responsible for corrupting the AMS-8 installation. To fix it, the long way is the short way. And that means a complete HDD wipe and reinstall - but not before first running an independent scan (from another machine) of every single installer and executable you intend deploying. Never mind what AVG reports. KVRT will pick up 99% of compromised installers, so use that to check the integrity of any packages you intend using before redeploying them.
If you're looking for a shorter route or a quick fix, you're unlikely to find one - not with that volume of 3rd party software installed. I'd seriously consider liquidating at least half of what you have there. If not using a program on a regular basis, don't install it. And if you set up a sandbox, on your system-drive, you can always use that to safely run anything needed at a later date.

Yes, lots of third party apps, most still used. My Malwarebytes is a lifetime subscription which I'm very reluctant to remove since they no longer offer it. I have however disabled it for testing and AMS 8.5 still won't run. Full scans with Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, and Windows defender find nothing. I am 99.9% sure it's not a virus or malware. That would not be logical when only one application is affected.
Wiping the machine and starting over will probably take longer than finding the real problem and is a really drastic action to take for one program that won't run.
License re-activation for all my software could also be a major problem unless I uninstall or de-activate first. So, not an acceptable solution.
I'd rather do without AMS 8.5 on this machine. And AVG was removed a couple days ago.
Thanks for trying.

So, the system does not like the autorun.exe for some reason. Anyone have a clue as to why?
