I think you miss the point -- the discussion forums aren't the chaos, it's where to find a plugin for ams 8 that is chaos.
I should look in ver 7 forums (which aren't compatible with ver8) for an announcement of a version 8 update?
it's the fact that announcements & update notices get burried deep in threads, often morphing from one topic to another.
a central place is the most logical.
it's just a mess.

Agreed, I have a group. I have all of my available plugins listed and about six or seven posts from users regarding them....that's a significant decrease in feedback compared to our old plugin forum. H3!!, Rizla deleted his group entirely. Tell me how the new plugin forum is helping, in an organized manner, to notify us about his plugins.Last edited by Centauri Soldier; 06-25-2010, 02:37 PM.

Indeed, I must say, this whole group thing... I'm getting less view and replies in group discussions. I'm trying to get people to go thereOriginally posted by Centauri Soldier View PostI wouldn't use "chaos" to describe a discussion board. Without the feedback of the community, the devs have no idea what people want or what problems they're running into or what improvments and additions are desired.
and suggest stuff or ask for support but I'm still getting mail ffs... Ah well...
We need a central place for all plugins, www.autoplaymediastudio.com is perfect. We get to announce (customers) the plugins in the AMS8 board,
but getting people to join those groups and post there is tough

I wouldn't use "chaos" to describe a discussion board. Without the feedback of the community, the devs have no idea what people want or what problems they're running into or what improvments and additions are desired. Additionally, restricted content detours people from posting, how many devs are represented in the new plugin forum?

YUCK! So one person says "I post announcements for my plugins HERE" and that's it for him; then another has their own website and appends an original post (in ams7 forum) to say "Update to version 8 can be found on my website" --
So now we'd add more 'mess' of unmoderated chaos...

There's a Left 4 Dead 2 Mod forum that uses a system such that there is an unmoderated section, and two moderated sections. "Approved Plugins", "Unapproved Plugins" and "New Plugins". Couldn't we use a system like that? Something where we could still have a discussion board. That's all I'm really after and maybe some more clearly-defined criteria for approved plugin posts as well as a system in which one's plugin post requests (eh ahem) don't get lost, forgotten or never responded to.Last edited by Centauri Soldier; 06-25-2010, 02:30 PM.

I agree. Stuff gets buried too quickly in a forum. New users never find half the stuff that is available. Having it all in one place, categorized and screened is the only way to go.Originally posted by jassing View PostPosting freely resulted in long threads & hard to find updates.
a central clearing house where one can go and see updates & get them rather than scouring thru a 1/2 dozen places & threads is a better way to go.
