Is it worth to update?

All platforms you have to add your own security, there are many ways to keep your work safe if IR gave one way of doing it it will get *****ed and it might stop the other ways we do it, yes security options would be nice but at the same time it could really damage how ams work if done wrong all apps I see no matter what software there created in are hackable.

I would love to be able to load items from a dll as a resource and images from base64 so we can have our own means to load our resource well all filed from base or none file means, but taking it two far could damage the way ams works

Even if this software does right this moment become discontinued the software still has many years left as windows 8 supports it and I sure its not going anywhere soon.

The software is worth buying if your wanting to release full apps without trial locks or with PE what a few people still have as there keys as IR stated will still work for PE and you can still use it, its discontinued but still usable with there closing logo, so the question here is not should I buy it, want to use the software fully the answer is YES.

Tho I would like to know also if there will be a new update soon, IR have been asking questions for a wish list I just wonder if we will see anything in the next 6 months as myself have become a 'GREEN' member and hope to see a update before that ends.

Thanks for your reply kingzooly but this is not my point, my point is a best ams security because I want to develop, I do not want to play to "develop".

Although the trial version is too limited in other forums (I know them) they mentioned the lack of security of ams v 8.1 and this is fatal to try to develop a "big" application, you know what I mean right?, I bet that we agree in "no gift our brain" to really lazy and thieves users, right?

So in my case, a solid product with a lot of support and a great security is my best option; I mean, if I pay it I deserve it, cos if I do not pay for ams, then there's no problem in giving my future creations, well I just kidding, really anyway I do not gift my brain like much people do in this forum.

So I'll keep waiting for a better security, if don't, well... What a shame.

Colin mentioned in another post that an update for AutoPlay Media Studio is in the works. Furthermore, pretty much everything I wrote in this post also applies to AMS. A maintenance release is coming, but you shouldn't expect any new major features - these are more likely in an eventual future version 9 or 8.5 or what Indigo Rose may choose to call it.

FYI right know I saw last version for ams 8.1 has support for win 8 and I assume with win 8.1 will support or maybe its supported.

I post several days about the updates question and no answer to date, that's sad and very unprofessional not to say what it will happen with this great soft, I've choosen not no renew the update fees until further news from IR, if will be discontinued I will move on to another soft time will tell.

I have no idea why you posted that as a FYI, I been a member for a long time look for user rexzooly if you can, I know 8.1 was means to work right with windows 8 but is still worked it just had a mainframe problem far as I remember, there was a boarder problem.

But my comment was based on if IR did drop the product right now it still has many years of usefulness left in it without IR's support, tho the support forum is mostly ran by the community anyway.

I am sure IR have some updates planed though or why would they start the wish list topic, and yes if your sub has ran out waiting to hear what is going to happen might be a good idea, this means when you do renew you have a longer sub.

Is it a good idea to buy yes is it a good idea to update sub well that's up to you, if your buying the sub to support IR then yes get your money out, if your buying it to just get the update then I would say wait a little longer maybe.

As I previously said, I am a veteran and loyal AMS user. I LOVE the program and plan to continue using it.
It is just that when IR changed their business model from program purchase to yearly subscription, the assumption is that there is going to be a constant update path (at least once a year).
I, personally, have purchased the program before IR moved to subscription and I expect to be able to continue using it WITHOUT closing logo etc...
If there aren't going to be anymore updates, please IR staff, let us know.

I would have to agree I would love to see a up to date road map if IR is up for the challenge of explaining what's happing, I would say adapt the module of getting the customer on board, show them what happens in your office, start with blogs, podcasts and things like this I am sure been in the business this long you must have some crazy ideas that could push your company forward

Hi,
As a faithful user of AMS, I am a bit disappointed in the lack of updates lately.
My subscription is coming to an an end and I am wondering if it is worth continuing paying for a program that seems stagnant...

Any input from Indigirose staff would be more than welcome.
