8 bits and massive K's of RAM ... I made my first computer from a pile of bits and went through the early apples which weren't good and the amiga series which were (still got a towered on which is suprisingly fast for it's age). Cinema 3D, SCALA and Lightwave still run smooth as silk and are as productive as they used to be. 1080P renders do tend to be a teensy bit slower though. CanDo, another AMS like swiss army knife still can make quite impressive things although the distributions a bit limited.
All the extra power and space has done wonders forl the bloat industry, where code had to be really tight and seriously optimised it's now OK to use almost as much resource as you want :(
LOL Must admit I do like my eye candy in games though but when you really look at it most games have a core that you'd recognise from years ago (if ever so much bigger) must admit I'd have killed for something like the frostbite or cryengine.

As for AMS I sometimes think that it is dissapointed (probably much eye rolling and deep deep sighs) with me and tosses errors to check if my brains still working. It is, well sometimes LOL

Cougar have you tried the skynet command extensions?? I can't remember if they are available (yet)

I have to agree with this, I know we could go back to the start and recreate a OS and system that would be more optermized but then to add support for moden things we would then open the doors to bulkware unless we redid most of the libs lol

Or well I guess it shows the moden world is wastful world, most GPU's are never users but there powerful enought to run a old windows 2000 system its crazy.
