  • Problem downloading Forum Attachments

Is anyone else having trouble downloading the apz examples from threads in this forum? Every attachment I try to download, is named attachment.php---not the apz file example that I am trying to download. I know I was able to download apz file attachments about 3 weeks ago...Thanks. JimC

Shrek---thanks for the reply. Yes, I am using IE. I will try Firefox and post back. JimC

EDIT: Confirmed that the download will process with Firefox, but not with IE Version 11. I did download a file from a thread using IE version 11 about 3 weeks ago---not sure if a Microsoft patch (i.e. my computer has all critical Windows updates applied) created the problem or something was changed in the Forum.

Confirmed in IE11. It asks the user if the user wants to download or open attachment.php. If you select download, it saves attachment.php with that name, and you have to manually rename the file afterwards.

Imagine--thanks for the confirmation. I did rename the attachment.php download to the filename.apz in the forum post. But when I opened AutoPlay 8.3 the tried to open the "re-named apz file", AutoPlay displayed an error dialog box stating that the apz file was corrupt. Did you successfully re-name and open the apz file in AutoPlay? Thanks. Jim

Jim whats the downloaded php file file size compared to the file size of the apz shown in the thread.
That would say it all if they are different.
If they are the same size then try extracting the .php file with 7zip or whotever and see wot ya get ...

Opening the renamed file worked fine for me.
