Flashdrive and menu system as well as Autoplay

Hi

its been a while since I have done any interactive work with AM8 but here we go ago . . . normally I distribute on CD or DVD (as per client request) but now they are going to distribute a video heavy project onto a flash drive (they call it a thumb drive).

Just before I kick start my grey matter and pour in copious amounts of coffee I just wanted to check AM8 is still good for a project like this?

any help / words of wisdom a re greatly appreciated.

You can run the AutoPlay application manually, but it won't auto-start when the device is inserted, like it does with the CD or DVD. Further details can be found in the Autorun MAX! FAQ.

Thanks - ok I get it will not autorun but will it at least prompt the user with a windows dialog asking the user what they would like to do and if so can they then choose to run the program?

Most likely not. You may see a dialog to explore the folder / drive, but no option to run the software automatically - first the user will need to open the folder, then click the executable manually.
