Protecting video's

Hello all,

I am developing an application where i have video's in. Those video's are valueable and i don't want them to be used outside my application. Is there a way i could use the crypto actions to decode encrypted video files when they are needed?
The main thing i want is to disable users to copy my video's for usage outside my software. Any advice?

You could use a third party software protection solution like WinLicense + XBundler, which would make your application run in a virtual filesystem, where the videos wouldn't be decompressed to the hard drive. I know that there are other products with similar features, but due to my lack of experience with them, I cannot tell you how well they work.

There are a few more but they either don't work with AMS or if they do your adding substantial CPU usage to your AMS application.

Whatever you do it won't be foolproof it's just going to add degrees of difficulty to getting the videos.

Perhaps adding a watermark to your videos would be easier?

Perhaps useful to note: Some of these protectors and packers raise a lot of false positives on AV's.

Thanks guy's i will try to get my head around it. This is new for me. I know about virtualisation (HyperV, Virtualbox, VMware) and about archiving. But this seems something between those worlds?

What you trying to do? maybe host the videos online so the content if controlled by you only I not sure.

I've build a training application that can import 'training modules' and play them. A module consists of multiple video's and exams to test skills. I tried to pack a complete module in a zip file and extract video's when needed but i don't like the idea that this process uses many writes and costs performance on slower machines.
If i would be able to stream video's to my application from an password protected archive, that would be nice. I can't host them online. If i would choose for that i would place the video's on my own webservers. But i can't guarantee an uptime rate such as that from professional hosts. I am not fully redudant. I also don't like the idea of 'the cloud' while i know that industry leading businesses embrace it. These are just personal preferences and i respect other people's opinions about that.
So yeah. That's it i guess

Any idea's about my vision are welcome also. But i also will have a look at the previously mentioned packers and protectors. Currently the solution needs to be free because i am low on resources
