  • autorun.exe invisible after crash APMS in Windows 10

    Using Windows 10, APMS 8.5.0.0

During the preview of a project, the preview can be stopped (for what reason ever) by quitting the autorun.exe in the Taskmanager.
Sometimes I got a crash during the preview (with a Windows crash-error).
Then the next preview comes up with the error: "Error: Failed to copy runtime engine - there is already an instance running."
That must be the autorun.exe still running somewhere in the background.
But then there is no autorun.exe notification in the Taskmanager anymore.
The only way to resolve is to completely restart te computer.
Is there another way to stop the autorun.exe in the background?
Or to disable the "other instance"?

I always put a shutdown button on the page during build so I dont have to go to task manager to turn the preview off

      Very good tip, thanks.
But that is not the issue.
The problem is that after a crash of the preview, the autorun.exe disappeared from the taskmanager but stays alive somewhere hidden in memory.
