You remember SMS manager AMS app? Well, I took it a little bit further....and used smtp and pop plugins to serve as the backend of my site www.fowst.com . The site fowst.com takes the search input and sends it to all members of the category (groups) through email. So basically the SMS manager, which I've renamed AutoBlast SMS at this point (you can find a less functional version of it here www.autoblastsms.com ) pops the mail off the server at timed intervals you set (so it's automatic), checks to see which members are a part of the category the searcher is searching for, and relays the email message as SMS to those members. This way searchers can find stuff that others are selling, Find Out What's in STock (thus the name Fowst) at major stores, and even ask for restaurant wait times, and ask for wrecker services nearby. The geolocation in this instance carried out by the AutoBlast SMS app is simple-it checks to see if the area codes match-thus the members are in the general vicinity. The AutoBlast SMS app- even the version that does not service fowst.com, which is found at the aforemetioned website also has another neat feature-it created a subscriber webpage in php for you to easily upload to your website and get texting subscribers. Any questions, comment are greatly appreciated.
