• House Judicial Subcommittee on unsolicited email

CSPAN.ORG (CSPAN3) is showing the House Judicial Subcommittee on unsolicited email right now. Very interesting, check it out. They have tons of experts talking on all sorts of internet and privacy based issues including filtering internet for kids, etc.

Just heard an interesting fact from this subcommittee, did you know that over half of earth's total internet traffic goes through Virgina, U.S.? I didn't...

That's largely because AOL's based in Virginia (suburban Washington). I think other network nodes have clustered there because of good access to infrastructure.

Is there an equivalent of CSPAN in Canada? I'd be curious to see a Parliamentary session sometime. If it's anything like the British House of Commons, it would have to be more interesting than our driveling political leaders droning.

Yes there is, and normally you can watch it live online 24/7 just like CPSAN but this week they seem to be having troubles with their site/broadcast feed. It's at http://www.cpac.ca

            It's a marvellous channel.

BTW my very favorite thing on CSPAN is when Pedro is hosting Washington Journal and the expression on his face when some caller starts morphing his/her opinion of the topic at hand into an explanation of their pet conspiracy theory, especially when said theory includes UFOs.
