Applications should not be installed into the root folder of the system drive. There are reasons to follow the deployment guidelines Microsoft, and I will not offer help to break them. Please deploy the application under ProgramFiles, and fix your application so it works using the security model in place since Vista (over 12 years ago).

    Newbie help

    Hi -
I'm evaluating MSI Factory and there are 2 things that I haven't been able to work out. I'd be grateful for any help.

    1. I'd like to create a subfolder under INSTALLDIR where I shall be putting various support files. How do I do this?
    2. For historical reasons I need to install to C:\MyApp. At present the install directory dialog doesn't offer a choice and always puts up C:\ProgramFiles\MyApp. How can this be changed?
    3. Associated with the above (I think) once installed, the list of programs shows a folder icon named MyApp, which has to be clicked to show the correct icon. Can I get the icon directly onto the list of programs?

    Many thanks
