  • How can I make a shortcut to uninstall my application?

First of all, by default all installations done through Windows Installer support uninstallation through Add/Remove Programs. If you want to make a shortcut to uninstall your application, do the following:
    • Select Project > Settings from the menu and on the Product tab, take note of the "Product code" value. Copy and paste it to notepad or write it down. Then press Cancel to close the Project Settings dialog.
    • Select Actions > Shortcuts from the menu.
    • Click the Add button and select "Create shortcut..."
    • In the Create Shorcut dialog, enter the following values in the fields (if a field is not mentioned below, leave it as the default setting):

Full path to target file or folder: [SystemFolder]msiexec.exe
      Location: StartMenuAppFolder
Description: Uninstall My Product (this can be whatever you want)
Command line arguments: /X {<<your product code from the first step above>>}. For example: "/X {142F9A23-16FE-4DF7-9CF2-78186A559236}"
