• Dissolving onto the page.

I am really new at using AutoPlay, and not a real technical wiz as it is. What I am trying to do, is to dissolve a whole page onto the screen. Is this possible, and if it is, how would I go about it as I do not see this feature anywhere in the program. I would appreciate any advice to this topic.

Thanks in advance,
Christian

What do you mean by "dissolve?"

Hi - such effects are not available in AMS4

One option yu may try is having the dissolve effect using a video file then get it to jump to a 'real' page when the video finishes. Tho, this may not work too well because the quality of the video file is not likely to be as sharp as the real page and therefore will not look too good! Just a thought.

Re: Dissolving onto the page.

What I mean by dissolve onto the page, is that the page comes onto the screen like the reverse of something dissolving away. If you know of way of doing this, or presenting a page in a unique way I would appreciate it.

Thank you,
Christian

I would suggest incoporating Flash object, using either Flash MX(complex) or Swish 2.0(easy). You can have an intro as "page1" and then after dissolve "jump to page" type of action.

Or you could also use a simple javascript fade inside a browser object workaround. Page transition effects might make a good suggestion for the new feature forum, hint...

It has been suggested before. I personally believe this is a no-brainer addition for AMS. It's one of the very few missing features that I believe are missing that really should be in the product. I don't even care about all the silly venetian blind wipes and clock wipes and stupid screen zoom effects. All I want is a simple dissolve (cross-fade if you will), and perhaps simple wipe effects where you can choose the direction of the effect. But the dissolve is the big one to me...

Absolutely! At least have a few of the cool looking ones like fade, dissolve, explode, and dither.

It would also be nice to control the speed of these transitions with a trackbar (Fast to Slow).

Re: Dissolving onto the page.

Agreed Eric. Nothing too freaky yet, just a few consistent and configurable fades and wipes. Well said. Of course it would be nice to be able to author your own transitions and share them but that's probably hard to implement.
