  • Problem with links within Web Browser Objects

    It's me again, gang!

Client gave me a bunch of html files that I'm putting into AMS 4 as individual Web Browser Object pages. On some of the pages there are links to go to another page (i.e., "click here for product detail info."). There are no navigation icons on any of the pages, so I've setup a generic "Return to Home page" button on the bottom of each page.

Here's how it works: from the HOME PAGE, I select a page to go to (call it PAGE ONE). From PAGE ONE I click on a link to go to PAGE TWO, and from there I click on "Return to Home page" button to get back to the HOME PAGE.

I just discovered that when I try to go back to PAGE ONE from the HOME PAGE, it takes me instead to PAGE TWO. This appears to be happening for every link.

I did have to do some editing of the html files using Front Page; could that have screwed up something(s)?

    AS ALWAYS, TIA!

That's possible! Sounds like you may have done.

Any chance you could paste the code here so we can see what it looks like?

As far as I know frontpage extensions are server side and therefore would not affect the actual client. I may be wrong. I'd have to see the project to say what's happening really.

Sure - could you guide me as to what to paste, and where to paste it?

I'd upload the whole thing, but it's about 15mb total.

        Thanks for the assist.

Re: Problem with links within Web Browser Objects

Hi - I have an update that may shed some light on this problem. I have a list box setup to go to various AMS pages that contain web browser objects. So, for example, in a list box I select to go to page PRODUCTS. On the html page that is now a web browser object, there are links to go to various product pages. I select to go to PRODUCT A, and it takes me to that screen. I also created a navigation button to take me back to the main (home) pace. When I select again the list box selection to go to page PRODUCTS, it doesn't take me there; instead, it takes me to the last page I visited, which in this case would be the PRODUCT A page.

What might be causing the "links" to not refresh and revert back to their original locations?

          TIA..........Rich

Corey - I just posted a reply to my own question (stressed out - project due at noon tomorrow).

Could you take a look at my message?

            Thx...Rich

I'd have to see the project to see what's going on, might be an error in there somewhere...
