I have 2 things to say:
1. How many people actually use AutoPlay4 for things other than autorun applications???
2. I will post some loops soon, i have several loop files which i am trying to fix so they actually loop nicely without gaps and i will post them soon within the next couple of weeks coz i have been busy with christmas etc. etc.

<Soup Nazi Voice>NO WEDGIES FOR YOU!</Soup Nazi Voice>

I'm afraid you passed the litmus test, albeit barely... IMHo is that Tragically Hip and Rush are both still producing decent music, i.e. Roll the Bones, Time Stand Still, My Music at Work, etc. And even Aerosmith to some extent, Jaded was a good recent tune from them. Ye olde coots.

The others we'll send out into the desert as a search party for our trio of vaporized sirens, and then they too shall vaporize. MUHAHA!!!

Adams alter-ego is Burton Cummings. Adam Cummings...

I put rush in the same category as "The Guess Who" "Aerosmith" and even "The Tradgically Hip" to some degree as bands that used to be good but should just retire before they loose all credibility.

How about a wedgie for me corey

It's great to see so many AMS'rs interested in the audio/music side of CD-ROM production. With this much focus, it will be interesting to see where future versions of the software go.

I've been out for a while working on various aspects of productions, but I hope to come back to the forum more in the future, and with some audio/graphic templates as well.

Again, I'll post some more references to my available music in the appropriate discussion forums, but since there's so much interest here as well, please feel free to check out my music at:

Tigg, I'm a little behind, but I should be back on track in the next few weeks. There's so much to this project... =0

My wife is a fan of Celine Dion...I can't say she's my favorite singer, but I've never really been offended by her like so many people seem to be. More like "meh, whatever" than "argh make it stop." She seems like a pretty nice person, though, which is cool.

But, Corey: "I don't see how anyone couldn't like Sarah."

Inside jokes aside, I've often wondered why there are so many good Canadian artists. Something about the cold North must make us crave entertainment.

P.S. - Don't forget Our Lady Peace. And the Arrogant Worms have some good songs ("Vegetables are murder" )...

Ironic how none of those people are anything more than just marginally popular in the US. Tragically hip more so than the others but still nowhere near as popular as the major US acts, whereas up here they are MAJOR.

A small quote from their most excellent tune "My Music at Work":

"In a symbol too far
or the anatomy of a stain;
to determine where you are,
in a sink full of Ganges, I’d remain - "

Oh yeah, almost forgot to raz Lorne for liking Sarah Mc-Gulp-Gasp-Wheeze-Choke-Lachlan. If you were here I'd get my neighbor and his brother to hold you while I gave you 6 third degree wedgies, each impressively higher than the previous... I wish her, Celine Dion, and Shania Twain would just crawl out into the desert and vaporize. It's enough to make me want to move to Norway sometimes...

If there is such a thing as **** certainly mine involves being serenaded by those three. I'd rather be slow roasted.

Not to mention...the Tragically Hip...Moxy Fruvous...Stompin' Tom...the Skydiggers...

Lots of other Canadian acts I really dig (Tom Cochrane, Loreena McKennitt, Sarah McLachlin, the list goes on) but they aren't so much what I'd call a "Canadian sound" as much as they're just good.

Interesting to hear your point of view on Triumph's lack of radio airplay in Canada as opposed to America. Down here in Oz, the only people who know about Triumph are other muso's...mostly guitarists, and ****ed few of them!
Been a Rush fan since the early '70s though. Awesome. Always loved the whole Power Trio trip.

I disagree with pretty much all of what you said but I'll leave it at that.

Triumph was HUGE in the US but no one up here really cared one way or the other about them. They rarely play them on the radio, always did. They thrived in the US market because they are American, they flunked here because they aren't. Barenaked Ladies, now THAT's Canadian...

Both decent bands, but it's not like they're hanging out here, or even playing/touring for that matter. They're both eastern bands. Eastern Canada, especially lower Ontario, the region where performers like Rush, Triumph, Kim Mitchell, etc. are from is basically exactly like the United States. Where I live is thousands of miles away from there and a much, much different sort of place. Way less densely populated. I live in the West, it's like Texas on Thorazine where I live.

Where Indigo Rose is, is even different still, it's right in the middle of east and west, and from what I hear it's pretty mellow for the most part, and even less densely populated than here...

As to Triumph, they asked Rik Emmet on a show called Open Mike about a possible re-union the other day and he said not a chance of it happening so I guess that's that for that...

I like Rush. I've never been a Rik Emmett fan too much myself, he's OK and everything, but I'm sort of more into Mike Stern, John Scofield, and Ralph Townsend nowadays... Emmett's a bit too American for me anyhow... And Sax Players, I'm heavy into sax players right now. Dexter Gordon is my fave, I listen to a lot of Dexter.

Also skate music, I've been skateboarding a lot for the last couple years, and the non-mainstream skate music is excellent for sure...

No worries. I'd love to set up a web cam and maybe have some jams with AMS users over the net...too cool!!
Daryl.

ps. I just went and checked out the link and had a listen to a couple of things...if I ever get to Canada (one day)we've got to jam!!! I envy you living in Canada a bit 'coz 2 of my favorite bands are Canadian...Rush and Triumph ( Rik Emmet IS God!), and I never got to see either of them live! Nice to put a face to the name too Corey...see ya. (Go the Music Exchange!!)

Just checking out the posts and came across yours...I agree with Corey..nice post. I've been a working guitarist / songwriter for nearly 30 years; it would be nice to see some music written and performed by AMS users. I've got a few laid back "Joe Satriani" type instrumentals that I've recorded in our studio that I might make available royalty-free for the AMS community as well...I'd love to hear other user's opinions on an AMS music exchange.
