  • How to insert a slideshow using Roxio CD Creator

I am trying to insert a slideshow that I made using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 and it is saving as a .phb I can not figure out how to insert this to make my slideshow play on my document. I am using the slideshow to show different kinds of lumber, but I do not want it to be a seperate document as it is just a part of a few pages. (If that makes sense...)
Is there a way to change how you save the Roxio slideshow or a way to add it to the autoplay document? It keeps saying that I can not add it because it is not valid or supported. Can I make this an .exe file or another kind?

Please help... Thank you very much.

Re: How to insert a slideshow using Roxio CD Creator

    Hi Christy-
    Let’s start from square one…
First go to “Make a Photo or Video CD/Video Postcard, when the “Select Template” comes up click “Cancel”.
Now dump all your pics in using the little book icon with the green arrow next to it. Now save it as whatever:
Album/Save Album/whatever.phb. Then click “Create Slide Show” (The CD with a slide). You will be faced with a window called “Select File” select “Add All” then Next and Next again. Now you will click “Copy Slide Show to Disk” then give a name and destination where you can find your newly made file. Hit Finish!
Now go to the folder you called …Lets say Whatever, you’ll see an executable, that’s the file you will use in AMS!

See attachment above my cat ;-)

    Hope this helps!

    Bruce

okay. I see how to make the actual slideshow.. but your attachment says "error executing file. ///test.exe. system cannot find path specified." I am not sure what that means. But is there a way to have the slide show playing continuosly from when the page is opened without having to click something? Also, how to you incorporate the show into the document? For example, you add a photo by clicking the 'new image object,' how to you add the show? Do you understand what I am asking? I appreciate your help. Also, does my show need to be under the distribution folder?

      Thanks Bruce,

I really really hate to be a pest...but I can not get the attachments to work on my computer. I see where the photos are in the test folder and I can open the slideshow, but when I try to build and preview it says the same thing that it said before. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Is there a special way to have it run in an autoplay document? Thanks again Bruce for all your help.

Hummm... I not sure what the problum is... Did you unzip the files to your Desktop? Then you should beable to double click on the "slide show no butt.am4" or the "slide show.am4" and they should start right up! what ver# of AMS are you running Chirsty?

Re: How to insert a slideshow using Roxio CD Creator

Thanks.. I got it. When it unzipped, the test folder moved, and once I put it in the distribution folder it played. Now I have another question for you. Is there anyway to get it to play on a box on my autoplay page? For example, to scroll through the photos while centered on the page but with words and hotspots around it? Do you know what I mean? I wanted people to be able to see, for another example, how a wall panel is made and used, while there is a paragraph about it, sizes, a back button, a home button, and a title on the page.

I have attached a mock up of the page that I am working on. It looks a lot different than this, but the point is there. Is there a way that this can be done? I really appreciate your help Bruce and I also appreciate your patience with a beginner like myself..

No, It is what it is :-( You could do a slide show without that program in AMS.

Don't forget though that for loops are not consistent from computer to computer, some are much faster than others. Don't rely on that as a production method.

Using a flash timer would be best...
