mp3 music looping while clicks still clicking

I've noticed that when I set an mp3 loop in the background, the button's mouse-over SFX don't sound out. I realize that this is likely due to the soundcard not being able to split focus. I wonder if there's a way in AMS only (sorry, I am not up on flash yet) to incorporate SFX with mp3 loops in a single project seemlessly. Any ideas?

I've got another interesting Q, but in order to keep the posts on subject for later inquiries, I'll post it after this one.

Could you set the sound effects to a Mouse Over action instead of the Sounds Tab of the button itself.

In the mouse over actions do something like this
MP3.Pause
WAV.Play ("%SrcDir%\filename")
MP3.Play

I don' t know how quick it would happen, but it would pause your background music, play the mouse over .wav file and then resume your mp3.Play.

Thanks Tig. The intro I'm thinking about only lasts a few seconds (maybe 4-5). It's more of a sound effect rather than a music loop. It is a sample of one of my songs and sort of sounds like a windchime. It's intended to be kind of a welcome sound like windows likes to use.

What's happening now is that the sound effect plays when the AMS page opens, but the buttons have no sound until the background effect stops. I would love to see a case where the background sound effect continues to fade out while the mouse-over effects make their sound debut. It may not be possible with AMS 4, but I had to ask. If anyone can think of a work-around, let me know. Otherwise, I'll be content with no BG music. Thanks again!

There may be other ways but oine obvious one is flash. Multiple sounds within a flash movie interact perfectly.

Protocol, have you tried it on more than one system? What kind of sound card are you using?

I just tried playing an MP3 on show (Loreena Mckennitt's All Souls Night) and all of the mouseover sounds worked fine while it was playing.
