• preventing a flash file from playing

Hi,

I have an autorun page where 3 flash objects exist at the same time. This is the first page of my autorun file. 2 of the flash files play automatically (which is what I want). The other file ALSO plays automatically (but I dont want this to happen).

I need this 3rd flash file to play ONLY when a certain link is clicked.

How do I prevent this flash file from loading automatically?

Thanks for any help
Matt

Hiya. That's an easy one, just download the attached file and open it up in AutoPlay Media Studio, it explains it all.

A small addition.
If you have ver 4.0 and not 4.002, flash object will play automatically, in any case. So be sure tohave last update.

Ummm nope, you're talking about desgin time and he's talking about run time. 4.0 has the exact same "play automatically" and "loop movie" options in the flash object attributes dialog as 4.0.0.2, and it's those which are salient here.

Re: preventing a flash file from playing

hiya again

ok downloaded that attachment but I still cant see how to do this. When I build that attachment I have 2 swf's which play automatically. This is my problem - I need to make only ONE file play and the other one to play when prompted.

Do both of those files also play automatically for you?

Nope. What version are you running? be sure you have 4.0.0.2 and I'm sure it will work just fine. I guess I must have been wrong about 4.0, the dev team might have fixed a bug in that function since 4.0 or something.

Over here when you build it the bottom flash movie starts automatically but the top one doesn't play until the text link is clicked. (Plus it doesn't loop)
