Media player question in AMS4

I need some help with Media player in AMS4
When i use media player with my AVIs the first frame is black until i start the video witj the play button. I need to be able to identify videos at runtime cause i have several avis per page. Media player starts with black screen as my first frame. Any workarounds?

Actually it sounds like the first frame of your AVIs is a black frame, many video editors add that, it's called, "add blank frame at beginning" or "add black frame at start" and is usually disabled in a preferences or options area of the app.

The reason I say that is because the media player already does show the first frame of your video at runtime. For example I just inserted an AVI into a media player object with the "automatically play media" checkbox unchecked and it worked fine, I can see the first frame and when I click on it it starts playing...

If you wish to attach an AVI I can take a look for you but it sounds like you just need to delete the first frame...

Sounds fair enough Corey. That would be great news. Where do i look for "insert black frame" ? in media player itself?

No, that would have been in whichever program created your avis. You need to delete the first frame each AVI in a video editing program such as Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio, or Ulead Video Studio, etc... The media player isn't the problem nor is AMS, it's the raw source video, the AVIs...

My problem is now solved. Corey, no there was no black frame at the begginig of the stream. I checked in premiere. The workaround was introducing a seek command to advance the video a few frames, actually 0.01 secs in my case. This solution was suggested by Adam Kapilik. Thanks very much

Yeah that isn't strictly necessary though... If you have no black frame then 0:00 is the place to be. Glad you're happy though...
