I am unable to bring a regular image (.bmp .jpg ect.) in front of a flash object. Is this a bug or just not possible?

Re: Image infront of a Flash object?
Unfortunately you cannot currently "stack" or "overlap" objects in AutoPlay Media Studio, maybe in a future version that will be possible. You'd have to insert the image in your flash. That's easy to do in Flash MX though, you can even load your image dynamically at runtime if you wish...

Re: Image infront of a Flash object?
There will never be a way to stack image or text objects on top of Flash, Media Player or Web browser windows. This is because images and text are drawn directly onto the background window while those other objects are ActiveX controls that are in their own windows.

This question might get me shot but how is Director able to do that then? (it is)

Re: Image infront of a Flash object?
It is not that it is impossible in the big sense of the word. Just in the way that we do things in AMS40. The way we draw onto the background gives us many advantages. Otherwise, we could put the image in its own window but then loose transparency, etc.

Re: Image infront of a Flash object?
I see.
One thing I do like about Director is that I can create any combination of objects including Real Media, Quicktime, 3D, etc. and make them interact in any way including movement, overlapping, alpha, etc. AND deploy via web or ROM with a single publish. Very killer stuff.
What I don't like is the HUGE price tag and IMMENSE learning curve.
Anyhoo thanks...
