Web Object

[Option_Explicit]

Is the Web Object built into the AMS or is it using the installed browser..
What I am trying to say is, if no web browser is installed on the computer, will the web object still display and function?

In theory no but all windows computers have some form of inetrnet explorer installed. But you can also set up your own custom error handling in the Alternate tab of the web browser object's properties dialog.

IE itself doesn't have to be installed...just the appropriate ActiveX control. You might find cases where the whole browser isn't installed, but the IE control is. (It also doesn't matter what the user's default browser is.)

The way IE is built into Windows, it'd probably be hard to find a system without it. But, it is possible...the system could be broken, for instance, or in extremely rare cases you might run into a user who stripped everything out on purpose to use an alternative shell.

Yeah.
Like the Avant Browser, AutoPlay uses the control from IE.
Even Win95 OSR2 has this installed as default.

If not, the VB4-5 or 6 runtime package includes this if I'm not mistaking.
