    Can be interesting but I'm not a programmer. What I also could try is to install AMS 4 in Windows 2000 and see if the same error occurs.

              Where do you have AMS defaulting to for projects? I wonder if there is something "hosed" in that setting so that when AMS starts its trying to set the base folder or something.

                I'm only new to AM4 so don't laugh.
                I work with alot of different programs and have found that they leave *** laying around. When I have a program not work.
                I uninstall it; Reboot; Delete any folder structure left behind; Clean out the REG'; Reboot; Reinstall using their configuration and folder structure.
                I have found that this works with over half of the problem programs that I have come accross.
