  • PDF Open to Bookmark

    Hello -
I thought I would post a quick question for all of your gurus!

I need to open a PDF from AMS (which I have done numerious times), but need to have different links within the menu go to specific bookmarks within a PDF.

I have a quick question. I know that Acrobat can accept DDE commands, but haven't looked into the Developers guide or even started to think about it.

As a workaround, I could call a bunch of different single page pdfs which automatically forward to other file and bookmark, but wondered if anyone knew of any hooks to call bookmarks from commandline?

Thanks in advance for any assistance! (Using AMS 4.0 of course!)

    Re: PDF Open to Bookmark

    Eric,
This kind of link (to a named destination or a page) is normally only available directly from within Acrobat on a local machine or as a web link. I know of no way of doing this from other Windows environments.

A while ago Corey (I think) asked if people might like to suggest ways of integrating PDFs more effectively into AMS. Your request is certainly one of them. Another would be to embed PDFs into AMS, in a similar way to Flash. Similar in a functional, not necessarily a technical way.

      Yeah that would be cool.
