  • Bizarre WMP 9 issue

I made a cd that plays 4 PDFs using the web object and one MPEG1 using the media player object. If I play the video first it works fine and is using the old mediaplayer 6 skin. But...once I have opened one of the PDFs and then run the video, it comes up with the WMP 9 skin. Obviously this only happens on machines with WMP9 installed. What's happening? Is there any way to keep this from happening?

Sounds like you are running it differently somehow each time, can you post the project? I'd like to view and test it for myself before making any assumptions.

Wouldn't I need to send all the content files then too? The problem can easily be replicated by setting up a project with 3 pages. Page one has a link to page 2 and 3. Page 2 has a media player object and page 3 has a web object. You will also need back buttons on 2 and 3. Now run the program and go to page 2 and play the video. You get the old 6.4 player. Now navigate to page 3 and look at any web object. Now go back to the media player page and magically you now are using media player 9.

OK, reregistering the 6.4 controller works to solve the issue on my machine. Is there a way I could put this fix into my program so it doesn't show up on anyone's computer running the CD I am making?
