Help with ActiveX

Autoplay Media Studio 4.0.0.3 uses ActiveX control version 6.4.9.1124 on my PC (filename: msdxm.ocx in windows/system32).
But I have a newer version: ActiveX control version 8.0.0.4477 (filename: wmp.ocx in windows/system32)
Is there any way I can configure my PC or AMS to use this new version of ActiveX?
I'm running WinXP Home, and I have Windows Media Player version 8.0.0.4477

How about running the following command?
regsvr32.exe wmp.ocx

Doesn't matter whether it's registered or not. The only WMP control that can be embedded in AutoPlay is the msdxm.ocx one.
