importing?

If I have items (images with actions) on 2 pages and want to combine them to one page, how would I go about doing that? If I copy and paste the images I lose the file names (renumbers them to whatever number is next respectively) and the actions dont work and would have to change them all. Is there a way to import items from one page to another? The actions and images are far too numerous to quickly rebuild the page with the new items. I was hoping for a quicker, easier solution, but so far have not found it. I looked through the help file which says to copy and paste, but like I said all my file names are changed in the paste and all the actions are null and have to be updated (which frankly would take me way too long to even try).
An example is the cool volume control I would like to use that someone posted. But if I copy and paste it, all the file names are changed and nothing works. Is there a workaround?

Set up your initial page.

Then add a page and go to the Page Properties. For the Background, choose Inherit from Parent, and choose your intitial page.

Be aware that there is a bug in AMS that reverses the ZORDER on pages that inherit though. If your using the volume control that I made, then you'll basically have to reverse the odrer of the images. It's not hard to do, just right click them and choose send to back.

Worm, I am afraid I have one more question, I did what you said and it worked. The trouble I ran into is that none of the image files are listed on the 2nd page. SO I copied and pasted them to it. Now you said I needed to change the Z-order of the files. Do I just start at the top and click on each one all the way down the list, or start at the bottom and go up? Maybe it doesnt matter. I experimented some with not so good results. Am I way off here? Maybe a little more help and I will have it.

Yep. That's exactly what I do. Except, when the bug is fixed in the next release (hopefully?), the results may reverse your own fix - you know it's bad when you have stupid worries about stuff like this. [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

My apologies. I moved some things around on my server and accidently moved my folder that holds all my AMS downloads.
