MP3 voice audio

When I convert music from wav to MP3 (using Super Audio Converter) all sounds well. When I convert voice/narration from wav to MP3 the voice slows down - a woman will sound like a man. Do you think the music is also slowed down but I just can't pick it out - or what? Anybody else have this problem or a solution?

Use a different encoder, or adjust the settings.

I recommend EAC (free) with LAME (also free). Just search for those tools on google for more info.
