  • AVI video won't play on cd

    Hi All,

I have developed a training cd with 8 videos on it, all but one of the videos won't play when I burn the cd. When I try to play the avi through the menu it wont work, I just get the windows media default screen. When I try to play the movie by browsing the cd I receive an error 'No combination of filters could be found to render the stream. (Error=80040218)'. The avi video is set up exactly as the other videos, in terms of the media player object. I don't have a clue as to what is happening, I have recompiled the menu and readded the videos etc, and wasted 8 cd's, but still no joy, anybody got any ideas?

Re: AVI video won't play on cd

Can you play the video's directly from Windows?
Is the error created on a new computer?
Is the AVI maybe a MPEG4 file? Then you need to install a MPEG4 decoder like DivX. But beware of copyrights.

The message you get is trying to say that there is no decoder found. This means that Windows does not known the format.
