  • Replacing Sample Video on Training Template

I'm creating a training CD and I'm wanting to replace the "Sample Video" on the stage area, but I can get the replacement video to show in my working screen, but when I preview it, I get nothing.

    Any help would be excellent!

Do you have "external reference" checked, and if so did you rememeber to put your video into your distribution folder?

Are you talking about the video trainer template? If so what do you have in the "filename" field of the Media Player Object?

There are 2 ways to include video in a Media Player Object:

      1) Include the movie file in your distribution folder and select the "External Reference" option. You can then browse the distribution folder for that file and AutoPlay will do the rest.

      2) Uncheck the "External Reference" option and simply browse your computer for the media file that you want to include. AutoPlay will then copy and rename this file and it will be included in the DATA directory.

Please post back if this does not clear up your question.

        Adam,

I have things set up as you state in item 1., but still there is only the Windows Media Player Logo in the screen when I preview it,and clicking the play button will not start it.

Make sure you refresh the file link once you have moved the clip to the Distribution folder...

Corey, and all who have replied:

I'm really starting to feel like an idiot and beating my head against the wall. I started over, brand new trainer template. I right clicked and copied my movie into the Distribution folder. I then right clicked on the media player object (center stage), clicked object properties, browsed for the Filename and retried (%SrcDir%\basics.avi), checked teh External reference box, and clicked ok.

I can see the first frame of the movie in my working area of the media player object. I click the project preview button and it launches the preview of the app and it shows the "Sample Video" screen.

            Thanks,

First: make sure you are using the latest version of AutoPlay.

IIRC, at least one version of the template you're using had an action to load that video into the media player object on one of the page or project events...either On Show, or On Initialize.

Check the actions that are currently assigned to the page events and the project events; there is probably an action that is overriding the changes you've made.

                Hi,

Try deleting "sample.mpg" from your distribution folder and then preview your project. Do you get any error messages? If so what are the messages.
