    Flash install not successful

    Hello

    I am a bit of a n00b at this. I have searched the forums extensively (which is how I came up with the following code), but I adapted the code to suit my needs, and predictably, it wont do what i want it to do.

    Basically, I have 4 presentations, one for 1024x768, 800x600, 640x480 and a screen resolution/flash detector presentation.

    The resolution detector part works fine, but the flash does not. If FLash is already installed everything works perfect. If it is not installed, the installer is displayed, and the user installs Flash successfully. The corresponding project is then run (in this case the 1024x769 project) but the flash intro will not work as it says flash is not detected as being installed.

    i am using the %flashinstalled% variable as suggested in another post, the code for that is all working, but for some reason, the flash will components will not play.

    And yet if i go to the macromedia site and install Flash from there, everything works fine straight away.
    It seems to me to be a problem with the Shockwave installer needing not altering registry value straigh away? Thats my guess.. but I am a n00b so likely to be wrong.

    Anwyays, any help would be appreciated.

    Install the standalone flash player, I don't have a link handy but I've seen this problem before and it solved it. The player I am talking about is the one for windows that macromedia emails you when you sign up for their player distribution program. That installer will fix all problems.

        Yep that worked great.

        To save people trying all 3 of the installers that Macromedia give links for (when ya get the license email) you must use the flashplayer6_winax.exe file (which is the one for Internet Explorer only) as the other ones gave me errors and would not work with my presentation.
