  • Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback

Here is a quizzing application that I have been working on for a while and thought I would put it out there to get some comments. I have provided the runtime only as I am still working on the code. Let me know what you think.

    Go get it

When I run the Quiz.exe, I get an hourglass, then nothing. Doesn't seem to fire the Autorun.exe on extract. I can go to my temp folder and run the app though.

      Let me take that back!

The dialog for the Username was behind some of my open windows. I don't think I brought them to the front, but it surely could have been my bad.

I like it! I can remember taking computer based "Aptitude Tests" before, and while they served their purpose, they weren't nearly as aesthetically (spelling?? i can never spell big words!) pleasing.

          Good Job!

Content of the Test is not important, I was wondering how the flow was and if there are other features that you would like to see on an app like this?

Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback

The Next and Back links on the review page were confusing to me...at first I just saw Next and Finish, and was wondering what the difference was. I didn't realize there was even more than one page of results until I clicked on Next to see what that did. You might want to move the Next and Back buttons over near the list of results. Maybe below the list, and put them side by side, with Back on the left and Next on the right. That, and indicate "Page 1 of 3" or something to that effect ("Showing answers 1-5 of 10" is another way to do it).

                Great work Tigg,

I noticed you are still using APMS 4.0.0.3.
For shure your runtime is this version. Mixing up different versions?

How did you create only 1 exe file??

Thanks OVM, I just updated to 4.0.0.4. don't know how I missed that one.

The one exe is through using the sfx options in WinRAR.

Thanks, I will put that on the page, and maybe change the layout.

Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback

I always impressed with you guys that know code or at least have the correct inspiration. But, I was on a mission to find a similar application for a client's website. I needed to post a Trivia quiz with some variables...etc...

I found this freeware and it would easily work with AMS either as a web feature or a program.

Question Tools is an integrated suite of products that allows anyone to create online lessons, exercises, surveys, tests and exams, and automatically collect and analyse results - all without programming, scripting or HTML skills.

So, TJ, hopefully you do not take insult to my post in respect to your efforts but thought it might be helpful.

Not at all. I did the same thing, and figured I would try it in AMS. This will only support question and answers in multiple choice or true/false. Not anything more complex. But there are a lot of testst that I have taken that are multiple choice and boy were they tough.

There is a new file on the site for download, I have added page numbers to the review page. Take a look if you want. The other items I am thinking of adding are the ability to "mark" a question for later review or be able to skip a question. And lastly a Timer of some sorts.
