Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
I can't take any credit for the Graphics, they were created by Bruce. When I do a lot of my stuff it is bare bones, and then I try to make it look nice later on. But then again, I am still learning and concentrating on getting the code right, so the graphics, for me, are an afterthought.
I will say that if I could make graphics easily that looked like this I would do it to increase the appeal.
Thanks for the comments
Thanks for AutoPlay
Thanks to Bruce for the graphics
I feel like I am at the Oscars.
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
In the couple years I spent teaching design classes I was constantly amazed at the low quality output of all student group projects. It's uncanny, you can take 4 superb artists and put them in a group and at the end of the week they inevitably end up submitting some macaroni glued to construction paper or something of equivalent verve. There must be a lesson to learn in all of that I'm sure...
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
TJ,
I like your application. It has a nice clean interface and intuitive steps. For a software engineering course we had a group project where we made something similar to what you have and I gotta tell you it wasn't as nice looking as yours. We had 5 people in the group over 4 months (although ours was made with Java, JSP and a DB2 database) but in the end AutoPlay seems to make a nicer interface in much less time.
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
The review page should be dynamic in that it will only show you four questions at a time. There are Next and Back navigation buttons to allow you to see more questions. You can also click on the questions to edit your answer. I have made some changes so you can see the page you are on and the total number of pages. I also figured out that if you went to retake the test it would give you the same exact test, that has been fixed as well.
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
To make the quiz more fun to take, I added additional questions. You will have to download and retake the test to see what they are.
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
There is a new file on the site for download, I have added page numbers to the review page. Take a look if you want. The other items I am thinking of adding are the ability to "mark" a question for later review or be able to skip a question. And lastly a Timer of some sorts.
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
Not at all. I did the same thing, and figured I would try it in AMS. This will only support question and answers in multiple choice or true/false. Not anything more complex. But there are a lot of testst that I have taken that are multiple choice and boy were they tough.
Re: Quiz application - Looking for constructive feedback
I always impressed with you guys that know code or at least have the correct inspiration. But, I was on a mission to find a similar application for a client's website. I needed to post a Trivia quiz with some variables...etc...
I found this freeware and it would easily work with AMS either as a web feature or a program.
Question Tools is an integrated suite of products that allows anyone to create online lessons, exercises, surveys, tests and exams, and automatically collect and analyse results - all without programming, scripting or HTML skills.
So, TJ, hopefully you do not take insult to my post in respect to your efforts but thought it might be helpful.
