Can a built project running from a distribution folder be used on an intranet?

You bet. Just put it where you want it and run it from the Network path. -

Can multiple clients run the application at the same time? Ex: Banking client with 100+ branches
Need the ability for many branches to access the project simultaneaously.

You can run several instances of an app simultaneously. Try it, build an app and then open it 5 times. Be careful with your resources though, for example if you write your app to read and write data from a single text file and ten people are using it at the same time it won't work right, etc.
If it's properly designed though you should be fine.
