  • creating index

i know i asked it in a diffrent way - but it seems so elmentryand i still cant make it happen ! it drives me nuts...
    so here it is again:
how can you make ams act like the "help" section ? (with index, search, chapters etc.) is it me or is it the program ?

    Re: creating index

You could do that. Perhaps embed some html pages and have it done in html/script, or Flash too. Could certainly do the index/chapters in those. No doubt the search too.

    Just a couple of ideas

      Re: creating index

Yes Derek's right, the most effective way to do that is to use an embedded web browser object and HTML/Javascript/DHTML...

so what you are saying is that there is no feature in ams that makes app like a help file ?

          Re: creating index

Not really - we're saying you can make it using an embedded browser object [part of AMS4].

Alteratively, you can try making it using a bunch of images and text objects with some show/hide trickery.

well, i still cant do it. can somebody give me an example ?
a simple page with a simple app would give me the jump-start i need.
            thanx

If I were you I'd start here... http://www.treemenu.com There are many others but not with that level of documentation and quality of design. Morten rules, he's even into guitar! Very cool guy...

Maybe if we suggest as a new addon module for AMS? I know that Macromedia Authorware got such a module. Thinking maybe it would help quite a lot of people who needs to do things lightning speed. :
