    Hey Andy,
Thank you for the warm welcome to this post
Im not at home, but i can give you my analyzes on that:
Make a listbox and a button.
Find files in extenstion of that excelfile.
Convert name excelfile intro string (text).
If string (text) = %name% then
    File.Open.....
or *name* or whatever it stands before or after the name.

This will probably help you out

    Sincerely,
    Casper

Hi usernameCasper, welcome to the great search box conundrum. The problem is not searching within excel, the prob is searching excel from within ams6 via a keyword/search box and then opening the excel sheet once a result has been found.

On my pc i'm currently using office 2003, and i would imagine customers would have various versions of ms office on their pc's. For those that have none then i'm bundling the latest version of microsoft excel viewer with the disc.

If you are going to open the .xls in the separate viewer anywho, look to see it the viewer supports command line options.
I don't use it myself, but being MS, I would think it can be run from a command line.
If the viewer does support command line, find out what script will do a search
Use the search box to get the search variable, then put it into the File.Run Argument action.

At the link below is an example of having an input box to search for a state. Then when you click on the search button it opens your excel spreadsheet and searches for all occurrences of that search word.

    I hope it helps.

I've added an excel price list with 9000 line items, the price list has been split into 6 sections with a button enabling each one. I would like to put a search box on the price list page where customers could put in a keyword and the search would take them to the corresponding section. Is this in anyway possible please?

I'd say as a first time you should be gentle with folks here, usually we newbies pound people with zillion questions, trying to get all the answers with one single post?

The thing is, once excel has been open you can do a ctrl+f to search
