  • Have a file execute then go to the menu upon startup...?

I have a short "Intro" file from PowerPoint that I want to run first, then have the menu open. I am using Autoplay Menu Studio v1.10, and if I set the menu to run the PowerPoint file, the menu opens first, then quickly goes to the PowerPoint file. Provided that I know how to get the PowerPoint file running first, is there a way to get the PowerPoint to open first, and THEN the menu?.

    Thanks in advance!

P.S. Autoplay Menu Studio is a FANTASTIC program! I love it!

There is really no way to do exactly what you are asking. Two possibilities I can think of:

    1. Create an AVI video file from your PowerPoint presentation. You could then use it as your Intro Video.

    2. Write your own "stub" program than first executes your PowerPoint presentation, waits for completion and then executes the AutoPlay menu.

Actually, there could be a way to do that... but I dont know how you could do the time delay (meaning 1 starts, then after it has finished... the second starts).

You could use a program of the type that is used to bind things like Back Orifice to another EXE. And there is program/utility out there that will (in simple terms) turn a ppt into an exe.

Once you get your PowerPoinT presentation as an self executing file, bind/wrap it with the menu.exe file.

But this will make both run at once (dont know if this will be a suitable solution). I think this is also what the prev person was leading into.

Or you may want to look into batch files (DOS scripting) you might be able to find a way to do what you want with it.
