  • transparency problems with PNG

    I used the blueleft arrow from the library, and it worked fine. When I loaded the scene at a later date, I found the transparency had disappeared. Even switched computers and had the same problem. We really have to figure out a way to get solid Transparencies everytime.

      Sorry about the webpage not working. Strange, it worked yesterday. Anyway, like I stated, PNG working once and then on reload, not keeping transparency...Also, found that when I try to put a transparency on them again (although it is a pain) - it will not let me and continues to have the white background.

        Hi David,
        I'm not really sure what you mean, I just made the background of “bluearrowleft.png” transparent, saved my project, then re-opened it and it worked fine. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? Also why is it so hard to put a transparency on the file? On my system I simply have to check the "Transparent Background" checkbox and the white background disappears.

        mark.

          Yeah, I don't get it Mark. I have had the same problem using this with AMS2. PNG seems to work at first, but then when I reloaded it, does not...
          Also, when I click on transparency, it depends on the color of the background (with BMP) whether or not the background immediately drops out...

            Mark;
            I also noticed this little glitch when I first used the final released version of AMS 3.0 but haven't really noticed anything since. I looked into the idea of putting a single dot in the top left corner of the image, the same color as the background, as there was no background showing in the little preview box and no way to change what apears in the preview box, but it didn't work so I ended up changing the background all together. Like I said though, it only happened to me that once ... It might help if there was a way to scroll the preview window so you could pick out the color to be transparent ... just a thought.
