Hide object or %infoVar%? what is the difference?

Just wondering what the difference was between the two and why you would want to use %infoVar% instead of just hiding it?

And also wondering why, if you have a hidden object on a jump to page - it flashes briefly when the page loads?

Hi,
The only real difference between using a variable and simply hiding a text object is that when you use a variable you only have one object to worry about. But when you are hiding multiple objects sometimes your design environment gets cluttered. For the end user there really is no difference.
