I linked an install.exe file but when it opens the install.exe also opens a install.dat file to execute the program and I get an error, not found install.dat.
the cd is written \FOLDER\install.exe when install is executed from AMS 3 without AMS the install works fine.Am i missing something? i wrote the file %SrcDrv%\FOLDER\install.exe.

    Hi,
What is the path to the INSTALL.DAT file? Did you burn the INSTALL.DAT file to the CD-ROM?
I am slightly confused as to what references INSTALL.DAT; does the INSTALL.EXE file use INSTALL.DAT somehow? If this is the case and INSTALL.DAT is located in a different directory then INSTALL.EXE, I would suggest that you place the path to INSTALL.DAT in the WORKING DIR field of your EXECURTE PROGRAM action.

yes, the install .dat file is in the same folder as the install.exe and it is used inconjuction with the install exe. when i doble click on the install in windows explorer on the cd it works fine, but when i execute it from your auto run maker i get the error! i thought maybe, there might be more to it than just executing the install.exe

        Hi,
What happens when you preview the menu from the hard drive? Does the INSTALL.EXE work properly when executed from your menu in this case?
Do you know exactly what the error you receive is saying?
Perhaps you could send me a ZIP ARCHIVE of your project (created in AutoPlay 3.0 under TOOLS -> CREATE ZIP ARCHIVE), the INSTALL.EXE, and the INSTALL.DAT file, so that I could test this out for myself. Send your ZIP file to [email protected] .

when i run it from start run install it works fine but from auto run it says FATAL:install.dat not found, which tells me the install.exe works but does not find the install.dat file using the auto run program??

            Re: %SrcDrv%

            Hi,
What I mean is what happens when you are testing your menu on your Hard Drive using the preview option, does AutoPlay execute INSTALL.EXE correctly then? Basically I am wondering if AutoPlay can execute the INSTALL.EXE file correctly on the hard drive, but cannot execute it when it is burnt to the CD.
Do you have the "Wait For Return" checkbox checked on you EXECUTE PROGRAM action? If so try un-checking it and see what happens. If none of this seems to help I think the best course of action would be for you to send me the information I requested in my previous post.
