New text box with color change in non-viewable area

Just wondering if others are having this same difficulty. When using the NEW TEXT icon and using white letters - if you drag the NEW TEXT over the non-viewable area to resize it, the text is impossible to see and makes resizing a bit of a chore. I would love to see maybe a color change when on the same color background. Anyone?
