  • Option Button

    Have been lurking in this forum and trying out AMS prior to purchase. Have not seen any discussion of "Option Buttons". Is it possible to use them? I would like to create a page that has several videos with option buttons on one side and a viewing area with play/pause/stop buttons on the other side.
    Can this be done in AMS?

    Regards;

    What kind of options are you referring to?

      Re: Option Button

      I believe there is a way. It's a rather lengthy process, but it should do what you're looking for. If you want it to look professional, you might want to make all the AVI's the same size on the page, too.

      First, make the page that you're going to put the videos on. Second, place all your AVI's on the page, making sure to uncheck the Play Automatically option unless you want it to do that. Next, make a play button, and copy it. Now, go into it's properties, and tell it to play the first AVI object, and label it something that you'll remember, like "PlayAVI 1" or something to that effect. Now, paste the copy of the original that you made, go into it, call it "PlayAVI 2" or something like that and tell it to play AVI object 2. Keep doing this until you've got a play object for every one of your AVI's on the page. Now, go into the page properties and tell it to hide all but the first AVI/Play button upon opening the page.

      Next, make the buttons for selecting the AVI's. In each one's properties, tell it to hide every one of them but the one that it's for (i.e. if the button is to select AVI 2, and there are three on the page, tell it to hide AVI object 1, AVI object 3, PlayAVI 1 and PlayAVI 3, but show AVI object 2 and PlayAVI 2). Once all this is done, you can create a stop and pause button if you so desire. You can even create a background that the AVI's fit into to make it look like they're viewing it through a window of some sort. Good luck.

      Oh, P.S. You'll need to set the properties on the stop and pause buttons to stop/pause every AVI. That way you won't have to duplicate it. The play button, that wouldn't work with because you want it to only play the AVI showing, but the stop and pause can be set to stop them all.
