  • Fonts on Windows 2000

I have a problem with one Windows 2000 Professional PC. My SF install runs with no error message, but in Control Panel, Fonts, the font is not listed. The TTF file does get copied to C:\WINNT\Fonts.

The box in SF: "Register as True Type Font" is checked. Also, there is no condition to cause the file to be skipped.

I try to install the font via Control Panel, Fonts, and Windows 2000 says the font is already installed. But, it's not listed.

    The file is C39M36L4.TTF.

Do I need to also install C39M36L4.FOT?

    Any suggestions?

Thank you. (BTW, *very* happy with SF!)

    Hi,
Perhaps the computer has to be restarted in order for the FONT to be displayed. Can you access the FONT in WORD or any other programs?

    mark.

      Re: Fonts on Windows 2000

We restarted the computer and the font still does not appear in Control Panel, Fonts. However, Word, Wordpad and my application do see the font, and the font works there.

I noticed that the font name in the registry is fully qualified: "C:\WINNT\Fonts\C39M36L4.TTF" instead of "C39M36L4.TTF". Maybe this confuses Control Panel in Windows 2000.
