Uninstall

If I set up an install for an Administrator to install for 'all users' on a client machine, this also sets up an uninstall shortcut in each user's corresponding shortcut. This makes no sense, as only the administrator should be able to uninstall the application.

As I can't set 'conditions' for the uninstall shortcut, how can I get around this?

Hi,
What you could do is un-check the "Create Uninstall Icon in Shortcut Folder" check box on the SETTINGS -> UNINSTALL -> ENVIRONMENT tab. Then create the UNINSTALL shortcut yourself using a SHORTCUT COMMAND.

Your Shortcut Command should look something like this:

Action: Create Shortcut
Folder: %StartMenuPrograms%\My Program
Shortcut Description: Uninstall
Target File: %WinDir%\iun506.exe
Command Line Arguments: %AppDir%\irunin.ini
Icon Index: 0
Use external icon file: Unchecked
External Icon Path: N/A
Working Directory: %AppDir%
Run Mode: Normal

Note: You will have to create your own uninstall action to remove this shortcut.

This will create a shortcut that only exists in the profile of the user that installed the program. Play around with this a little and it should give you all the functionality that you require.
