Does the "My documents" built-In variable exist ?

Does anyone know if there is a built-in variable for the "My documents" directory, which can change according to the OS or the people connected.

No built-in variable (we're looking at it for 6.0 though), but you can find the path to My Documents in the registry here:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
Value: Personal

On NT/2k systems, there's also a per-user value:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
Value: Personal
