  • SUF: Don't want folder in start menu

Just trying out the new SUF 6 which I seem to like but there's one little thing that's driving me mad........

When I put a shortcut in the start menu/programs I DON'T want that shortcut in a directory. Leaving the %SCFolderTitle% blank causes a warning. How can I proceed?

    TIA

Re: SUF: Don't want folder in start menu

Do *not* check the "create shortcut in Start Menu" within the file properties window. Instead create the shortcut this way:

    - Open "Actions" - "After Installing"
    - Click add-button - "Shortcuts" - "create shortcut"
    - Enter these values:

    Folder:
    %StartMenu%

    Shortcut description:

    Target file:
    %AppDir%\.exe

    Command line arguments:

    Working directory:
    %AppDir%

    Icon:
    0

    Run mode:
    Normal

Instead of %StartMenu% you may use also %StartMenuPrograms% or any other path. Check online help - "Command Reference" - "Built-In Variables".

Note that SUF will *not* delete the shortcuts created this way when uninstalling the application. You will also have to make an action in the "Uninstall" - "After Uninstall" for this.
