Search for file, have file, want to know directory so as to CD to it.

Hi,

I want to execute a file.

In order for it to work correctly, I need to CD to its directory and execute it from there (it requires files that are stored relative to its working directory).

Although I can use the search action to find my file, I don't seem to be able to get details about its working directory.

Is this possible?

Hi,

You can set the Working Directory on your "Execute Program" action. Is that what you were looking for?

There is no way to search for a file and then return what its working directory is.

Use the Parse Path string action to determine the "Drive and folder" of the file you found. Then use that value (specifically, the variable that the value is stored in) in the Working directory field of your Execute File action.
