  • IRSETUP.EXE error

I'm a new user to Setup Factory, and I'm hoping that there is a work around for a problem that I'm encountering. One of the applications that we are distributing requires a run-time environment to exist on the target PC prior to installation of our software. It wasn't difficult to add a check for the existance of the run-time, and if it wasn't there to install it, but after the run-time is installed it requires the user to reboot the PC and this is giving us a IRSETUP.EXE error. I'm assuming that this is because SUF is still running in the background when the user requests the reboot. We have no control over the packaging of the run-time as it's proprietary software and is packaged using InstallShield. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: IRSETUP.EXE error

    Hi,

What you should do is make sure that nothing else in your installation occurs if the "run-time environment" does not exist. Then simply execute the other installation without "Wait for program to end" checked, and your Setup Factory installation will continue, skip everything and then close before the other installation finishes.

    mark.
