Removed features?

Hello. I just grabbed the trial of SF6 a while back, and finally had a chance to take a look at it.

Is it just me, or are there some features that have been removed from version 5. For instance, I could have sworn it was possible to change text colors in the various dialog boxes.

Also, it seems the backgrounds have been removed altogether. You had some really neat gradients and the like.

Have those features been removed or am I just not looking in the right place?

Given my experience and the fact that you have yet to receive a response to your question, I'm guessing that it is not "just you." Makes you wonder about the assertion that "upgrading is always the best option."
