Is it possible to organise so called file groups in sf5 or in sf6 projects.

Yes they are called packages, very easy to use, you define a name for your package and as well can store it as an variable.

I also was wondering regarding this...

      I have 3 packages: A, B, C.
Can i build the project only with packages A+B?
Or this only effects the display in runtime?

        Re: Setup Factory 6.0

if you have three packages, when you build the routine, it will include all the three packages.

but what packages will be installed at run time, depends upon how you have organized the packages.

        for example:
        1. install packages A and B if setup type is typical and
        2. intall package only b if the setup type if upgrade.

it gives you a great flexibility

        hope this is of help

            kostik,

This is exactly what i use Packages for...

This is the only way i could arrange the files in some logical way (I don't use packages at all - it's only for display in the Archive List view).

Hope they wil add this in next version...

Maybe I'm blind, but in the project window you can sort your files by clicking on the column header for "Source". Doesn't this suite your needs?

of cause not. In case of over 1000 files in several groups... it's very difficult to control them in one HUGE list.

csd214: I know, but there are at least 2 problems with this approch:
                    1) when you have many files (with similar names) this is a big problem.
                    2) sort order does not save in the project.

a quick solution would be to add a visual divider in the listview for each package/group...
